Are your feet the same size? No? Join the club, a lot of us have one foot bigger than the other. Aligning the heels allows our knees, hips, pelvis, spine, shoulders and neck align, without twists and turns. Alignment is our theme this week. I'll cue us through some wonderful Pilates moves that stretch, strengthen, tone, mobilise and flow our bodies naturally while enhancing our conscious awareness of what feels right because it is right. All Saints West Dulwich sessions run as normal this week and next. Monday 0700 0800 0900 Tuesday 1000 1100 Wednesday 0800 0900 1000 The last sessions before Christmas are on Wednesday 19th December and the first sessions after Christmas are from Monday 7th January. West Dulwich students, thank you for your patience with the boiler situation, which has now been resolved. David Lloyd classes run this week and next and this Saturday David Lloyd have organised a Wellness Day. You'll find me in the studio teaching two half-hour Wellbeing Pilates sessions at 3 and 330. This week is the final week at RAD before Christmas. By the way, if you've not found it already, video 28 has you in mind. Keeping the sartorius as happy as the rest of our body over the break. Take good care one and all and see you in class.
"Watch a cat, as it lazily opens its eyes, slowly looks around, and gradually prepares to rise after a nap. First, it gradually rises on its hindquarters and then gradually lowers itself again, at the same time sprawling out on the floor, leisurely stretching its forepaws (with extended claws) and legs. Observe closely how all its back muscles actually ripple as it stretches and relaxes itself.... Observe, too, how cats sleep - utterly relaxed whether they happen to be lying on their back, side or belly, Contrology exercises emphasize the need for this constant stretching and relaxing"
