Hello and Welcome -

Please do tell your local friends that there are spaces in the sessions at 0930 on Mondays and Wednesdays. I will be delighted to welcome them.  I say local because, hopefully, they can walk or cycle to the class and will have no need to get embroiled in the heavy traffic! 

Who'd have thought, eh? - That a High Traffic Neighbourhood becoming a Low Traffic Neighbourhood would cause mayhem? Surely we'd all welcome the idea of a Low Traffic Neighbourhood and embrace it by walking and cycling everywhere? Life is not that simple is it? The situation for now is that lots of roads have been closed, and even more roads are closed at certain busy times.  Unfortunately though, what wasn't considered was that vehicles don't evaporate, they're on the road for a reason.  So now there are traffic jams!  The ability to think through potential consequences of closing many roads in a high traffic area seems to be left to us to fathom in real time.  The situation at present is causing bad air for those areas contending with the fall out of these decisions.  It is making rush hour emergency journeys impossible.  The situation is causing health risks, frustration, road rage, illegal driving and bumping into an obstacle or two, along the way.  Maybe you got the memo and your car has evaporated? Or maybe you've noticed vehicles evaporating? I haven't had the directive telling me my vehicle must evaporate, or to avoid driving, or to take my vehicle away from the neighbourhood? But I feel grateful I'm not having to drive at those times and I pray there are not emergencies at those times. So, the upshot is that there are teething problems and, when the dust settles, I can only hope there will be a healthy solution for the whole neighbourhood.   Right now, I am all too aware that the situation is harming people's health, dividing people, stressing people, upsetting the balance of the neighbourhood, calming some roads and destroying businesses.  All huge and very sad for many people.    

If you know any local people, maybe people that can no longer get to their regular class elsewhere, please spread the word and give my details.  Thank you.

When you arrive at the class - please park the LTN outside - and come in to breathe, centre yourself, balance, relax, and we'll go through many moves: for every joint and muscle that will keep us strong, agile and able to Pilates On and On and On.

Cue The Move: "...Sitting on the mat - Curl up, using your abs, hip flexors and neck flexors and breathe deeply and completely, release the shoulders, let them melt, and then anticipate lifting your feet off the ground....when you're feeling that you're working from the inside out, AFA it, and you're ready to lift them, then enjoy rolling back on the inhale and up again on the exhale......stay curled up throughout.....try balancing on your shoulder blades and then on your sitz bones....... "
