The 20th May, wow that date 20th May meant so much to me for so many years. We're all fluid though and letting go is an important part of self-care. Tomorrow is the 20th May 2019 and it is simply and beautifully a new day.
Thought will lead us to thought-experiments, awareness, conscious connection, movement, flow, precision, strength and power. Here's to a spring of discipline, depth and release. See you in class.
Stabilise, mobilise, grow, strengthen, roll and balance. Accessing awareness from the inside out. Circles, balls and blocks enhance our movement this week. Come play.
Releasing and strengthening this week. No Tiger Rolls and no need to throw buckets and buckets of water over us afterwards. We are doing what our bodies are designed to do. We are moving them through their natural lines. Into the bargain, we're toning, as ever, just about everything; legs, butts, arms, tums, backs, shoulders, feet...and the rest!
The class this week has been structured by me but, it is realised, in the moment, by you. Every session this week will be without small equipment. The equipment is, however, always available. Your presentations this morning made the whole caboodle of Pilates as fluid as ever. Please always ask for a modification: If the preparation/set-up of a
"Watch a cat, as it lazily opens its eyes, slowly looks around, and gradually prepares to rise after a nap. First, it gradually rises on its hindquarters and then gradually lowers itself again, at the same time sprawling out on the floor, leisurely stretching its forepaws (with extended claws) and legs. Observe closely how all its back muscles actually ripple as it stretches and relaxes itself.... Observe, too, how cats sleep - utterly relaxed whether they happen to be lying on their back, side or belly, Contrology exercises emphasize the need for this constant stretching and relaxing"
