To Remind You of Something I wrote in October We need to practise breathing because otherwise we breathe in a shallow way.  Complete breathing increases our lung capacity, calms our vagus nerve - all the way through it's long, branching and wandering journey from our brain to face, to ears, mouth, esophagus, lungs, heart, stomach, "gut brain" and rectum. We rid ourselves of Co2 and gases we don't need including 70% of our cortisol.  It's great we produce cortisol in times of survival but holding it in suppresses all too much.  Breathing completely will exhale 70% of it and this is essential for our well-being - reducing stress and pain.  It will balance our mood, metabolism, blood sugar levels, heart rate, blood pressure, and set the scene for our digestive and reproductive systems, growth processes by the way too, and even our immune systems. Ridding ourselves of cortisol will also mean our body doesn't start to produce widespread inflammation. And breathing in deeply enriches our oxygen rich cells. I could go on and on, you know what I'm like - maybe it's best we simply practise deep complete breathing every day?  Come and join me, while I cue us through, you can breathe completely, feel your deep connection, and add the moves.  Breathe Connect Move.

This is something Joseph Pilates said about breathing - "Breathing is the first act of life, and the last. Our very life depends on it. Since we cannot live without breathing it is tragically deplorable to contemplate the millions and millions who have never learned to master the art of correct breathing"

See you in class.
